No. All five Parts, the optional extras, the Library and the Decision Record belong to Recon. Choosing a direction and planning how to build toward it belong to paid Access. Recon shows you this boundary before any work begins.

No. Recon is written for complete beginners and for people thinking about a move from another field. You look at what the work involves before you decide.

Both are complete endings, and neither one is a failure. No Go records a decision against the move. Not Yet records a decision to come back to it on a review date you set. Their pages in Recon show no offer.

About 2 h 30, split as you like, plus at least one night before you confirm your decision. Each Part tells you its own time at the start. When Recon opens, the app saves your progress, so you can stop anywhere and come back to it. It can take longer if you read English slowly. These times are estimates of the decision work, still to be tested with the first Navigators. None of them is a timeline for getting a cybersecurity role.

You write everything in one file, the Recon Logbook. Optional extras sit outside the 2 h 30: a Conversation Guide for one talk with someone the move affects or someone who does the work, and a Library that stays open to everyone. It holds full profiles of all ten career domains, job searches by region, five questions to ask of any figure or promise, a starter list of risks and a glossary. Worked Logbooks from fictional Navigators show how to use the tools. None of them is a typical result.

Not yet. The sign-up page is a preview. Its email field and its two boxes are disabled, and it cannot collect, save or send information.

An email address, one line you tick to say you do not work in security and are not a recruiter or a vendor, and an optional box for marketing emails, unticked. There is no LinkedIn check, no essay, no question about money, no review and no wait. When Recon opens, you start straight after signing up.

Recon is for people considering a move into cybersecurity. It is not meant for people already working in security, recruiters or vendors. You confirm this yourself with one line at sign-up. Nobody reviews it.

When Recon opens, the app stores your email address, your Logbook answers, your progress, your settings for the service emails and your marketing consent if you give it. Your answers are used to run Recon for you and, only in anonymised and aggregated form, to improve Recon. Deleting your account deletes your Logbook.

When Recon opens, it sends three service emails, and you can switch off each one: a nudge after 7 days without progress, a note when the night after your Decision Record has passed, and the reminder for the review date you set if you wrote Not Yet. Anything about Access is separate: one email after a confirmed Go, sent only if you ticked the marketing box.

The sign-up preview stores nothing. There is no analytics or tracking integration. If you choose a theme, that choice is stored in your browser when storage is available.

Yes, once purchases open. If you did Recon, Access brings your question, criteria, money and time, market figures and risks across from your Recon Logbook. Without a Recon Logbook, Access starts with the Entry Check. It takes about 80 minutes: you write your question and criteria, your time and money, your own count of local job postings and entry pay, three risks and a Decision Record. After at least one night, you confirm Go, No Go or Not Yet. The decision is yours, and the nine stages are open whatever you write. After a No Go or a Not Yet, you can stop there or go on. Access comes with a 14-day refund. If you ask within 14 days of buying, you get a full refund. Purchases are not available on this website.

The Career Spectrum Assessment, nine stages taken one at a time, each closed by a gate, the Daily Bearing, and one Access Logbook with a Risk Register carried forward from Recon or the Entry Check. The stages are built on The MINDCROUD System, the goal method I created, rewritten for a move into cyber work. You work through them at your own pace, on paper or on screen.

No. The Career Spectrum shows all ten career domains every time, each Closer, Mixed or Further, with the alignments and frictions behind it. Nothing ranks them or recommends one. You choose a primary and an adjacent domain in Stage 4 and write why.

No. No tier delivers tools, labs, challenges or exam preparation. Access helps you choose external technical training and plan the evidence you want to produce.
