From a Navy uniform to civilian cybersecurity
For twelve years I wore a Romanian Navy uniform. In the last of those years I was the Information Security Officer at Navy Headquarters, working on security standards, compliance, audit, incident response and business continuity.
I left the Navy in 2016. My civilian work took me through network and security engineering, threat intelligence and incident response, enterprise security infrastructure and managed security services.
Inside security teams
I worked in security infrastructure and information security at ING Romania, and as a cybersecurity architect at Honeywell, where I also built internal mentorship and training programs. Since 2023, I have worked independently on vulnerability management, managed firewall services and attack surface programs.
I hold the CISSP and CISM, and I am a certified career coach. The useful part for this program is the work behind those credentials: seeing security teams from the inside, helping people learn, and making a career move myself.
